FAQ

About Ring

What is the correct hand position against the reader?

Our Rings have a unique antenna integrated circularly to assure the best performance, therefore the signal is transmitted from the ring circle and requires tapping knuckle on the surface, not the ring itself.

Which Tesla models support the cnick ring functionality?

cnick rings are compatible with all the Tesla Model 3/Y and 2021 Model S/X.

How are cnick rings made?

At cnick, we take pride in crafting high-quality smart rings that seamlessly blend technology with exceptional craftsmanship. We are the exclusive creators of the world’s first and only smart ring made from silver, setting our Silver Rings apart as truly one-of-a-kind.

In addition to silver, we offer eco-friendly wooden rings, featuring a unique waterproofing technique that makes them both lightweight and comfortable to wear. Our collection also includes rings made from Zirconia ceramic and gemstones, ensuring a variety of styles to suit different tastes.

Every cnick ring is meticulously handmade using premium materials. To enhance durability and comfort, each ring undergoes a transparent, waterproof coating. Plus, we offer customization options, allowing you to personalize your ring with your preferred color, engraved symbols, or text.

With cnick, innovation meets craftsmanship to create smart rings that are both stylish and functional.

Do I have to charge the ring?

No, the cnick ring never needs charging.

How durable is the cnick ring?

Our manufacturing technology guarantees the highest quality and durability. It's almost impossible to break cnick rings by dropping or gripping.

cnick rings are not weak and delicate, but it’s a good idea to keep the polished finish looking nice over the coming years. Most of your daily activities are fine. Avoid exposing the ring to chemicals and detergents as this can damage the finish. Additionally, we recommend removing the ring when lifting weights to prevent any potential damage.

With the wood rings, best practice ring care starts by avoiding exposure to harsh chemicals and rough treatment (e.g. wearing the ring while lifting or operating machinery). These are things that can compromise the finish and the integrity of the ring itself. The finish is the most important factor in keeping the ring in good condition and, if it is compromised, water can penetrate the wood. This damages the ring from the inside.
Rings can withstand the shower or hand washing, as well as swimming.

Can I wear ring while doing dishes?

We recommend removing cnick ring when washing dishes. Exposure to the detergents can damage the ring finish.

With the wood rings, if the finish is affected water can penetrate inside the ring and damage the wood.

Can I wear the ring on any finger?

We suggest not to wear the cnick ring on the middle finger.

The middle finger is longer than the other fingers resulting in more distance between the ring and the reader, which affects reading performance.

Feel free to wear on any other finger.

Can we make payments with the cnick ring and bracelet in Australia?

Not yet! The financial institutions in Australia do not currently support tap and pay with 3rd party wearables. We do hope that this changes in the future.

How do I find out what ring size I am?

When you are selecting your cnick ring size, select the size "I don't know" in the respective variant of ring you would like. We will then post a physical ring sizer to you first. This will alleviate any guesswork or confusion. Once your size is known, we will express post your cnick ring to you.

What is the difference between Gen 1 and Gen 2 rings?

Gen1: Can be used as a Tesla back up key

Gen2:

  • Sleeker Design: Features a slimmer, more refined look.
  • Advanced Features: The ring is designed for future updates.
  • Link Sharing: In addition to the car key, you can now use the ring for link sharing.  You can add any website, social media link, or custom URL to the ring. Once saved, tapping the ring on an NFC-enabled smartphone instantly opens the link. You can also add a digital business card by using third-party apps that generate shareable links. To do this, download our cnick app and follow the in-app instructions. See video below.
